Time is Flying

So just off chance, when someone asked me how long I have been in med school, I took a second to respond because I hadn't thought about it much. But once I did, I was surprised that it has been about a month since classes started - 4 weeks, 5 including orientation. I've learned so much in that small amount of time; it's ridiculous. What we learn in one biochemistry lecture took us weeks in undergrad. Yeah ... Guess I can somewhat see what they upperclassmen mean when they say that the years tend to fly by without notice.

I've realized that the sheer volume of information forces me to have insane time management skills. Which usually leaves little to no room for relaxation or long-lasting entertainment, unless I'm extremely productive over a period of a few days. By the end of this school week, I was completely burnt out, and fell asleep at 10.30pm on a Friday night ... a little sad, no? And now I'm up at 8am in order to study and get stuff done. I have my goals set, and I intend on accomplishing them so that I'll be as caught up as possible.

The other feeling I need to get used to is the feeling of always playing catch up, but never actually feeling in the right place. Such is med school, apparently. How nutty. And speaking of nutty, I didn't realize the Autumnal Equinox already happened. And here I was judging some tree I saw changing color already. My bad, tree. My mom had to remind me that Fall had begun ... hooray! My favorite season. I have to make sure to enjoy it as much as possible. Which means that my birthday and Halloween are right around the corner! But so are midterms ... less than three weeks away. Better get crackin'!
