It's the small things

Quick update. I only have two weeks left until my GIANT TEST, but I'm making progress and even at this point, I know I'll pass, which is the first big hurdle. However, I want to do more than just pass and beat the national average, so I continue to hit the books!

Though this is study period is giving me a lot of me time, it's been important to take a few hours here and there to reconnect with humanity, leave the house, and see how my friends are doing. Had dinner with my buddy Jeff last night, which was great, and lunch with Louise and Janet today. They're all med students that I care about deeply. And to my surprise, Louise brought these for me!

Super nice gesture! She said, paraphrased, "Tomas, during my study period last year, I constantly kept flowers around me to remind me that we're all alive and need each other, and that life is all around us." It helped keep her grounded, so I think I'll use this technique to do the same. And just yesterday, I received a motivational card from the first year students in my a cappella group, wishing me the best and thanking me for my participation this last year. Such heartfelt sentiments really go a long way, at least for me, in terms of pushing me to study hard and accomplish my goals. Knowing that people believe in me helps me believe in myself! And speaking of the Lymph Notes, I designed a logo for us that will be put on a shirt as a study break. Kudos to my sister for bringing it to digital life in Photoshop!

Two weeks from tomorrow and I'll be taking my 8 hour test! Two weeks from Sunday and I'll be flying to Hawaii! I. Can't. Wait! :D
