A great St. Patty's Day

Though the day didnt' exactly involve drinking, it was still a great day nonetheless. My first Irish carbomb before a game of Settlers the night before counts for something, right?

Well, the day went by normally. The boss is out for the week, so the lab has been pretty stress-free, aside from the departmental drama that always happens. Tuesday proved to be quite productive, with an lab trip to the Dairy Bar in the middle of it to keep us motivated. I'm a good lab manager, eh?

After work, Corey and I went to an apartment showing for a place near the commons, on the southern end of Seneca St. The place was gorgeous, about two times the size our our current place, includes all utilities, cable, internet, laundry (not coin-op!), and parking for pretty much what we're paying now. We couldn't give this up, and so we took it and will soon be closing the deal. We'll have to have awesome summer parties.

Afterwards, we wandered down to the commons because it was such a beautiful day out and had dinner at Taste of Thai. The service and food was excellent, and we topped off our meal with dessert. Corey had some fried ice cream, and I got the recommended super secret not-on-the-menu mango sticky rice. It was heavenly. The warm, soft, sweet sticky rice with fresh mango slices was a perfect finisher to my gingery meal. We then walked around some more and headed back to our house. This was followed by a quick trip to Target for random things - an umbrella, face wash, and some clothes. There was a little boy's Super Mario Bros. shirt on sale as I walked down the clothing aisle ... I couldn't resist. We then headed back home, once more, and basked in the awesomeness of our days. We decided not to go overboard and saved the leftover Guiness from the night before for another day. I can't wait to move in to the new place!

On another note, I've been having nightmares for the past few days, and I'm unsure as to why. It's slightly concerning ... I'd like to have a night where I don't wake up remembering how various people died. And it's even scarier because the one I had last night was a recurring dream, too. It involved me and 4 other friends, where we are locked in a pretty dark, yet ornately decorated room in some mansion perhaps. We are told we're not allowed to leave the room until 4 out of the 5 of us are dead. We're left in the room with a revolver. It usually gets down to just Corey and me, and then either I wake up, Corey tells me it's my decision, or we're somehow both allowed to leave. Last night, it was the latter. Let me tell you, it's pretty horrifying to see your friends have a bullet put to their heads ... wtf.

And on that grim note ... at least it's sunny outside :)

  1. That is a terrific dream. Horrible to experience, I'm sure, but what an interesting concept and great material from my point of view. You should turn it into a short story.
