That's the logical outcome

Overthinking can cause much stress, and hesitating to act because of fear or uncertainty could have various consequences, but so can acting based on intuition and hope. I see many people around me who choose to stay apathetic or questioning many decisions in their life due to a lack of knowledge which would serve as a useful tool for making decisions which could have large effects on their lives. While this is unarguably a viable strategy, speculation can only get you so far.

I recently read something that said, "All decisions are made through either FEAR or LOVE." I'm not sure if I agree with that to an extremist sense, but there's a lot of truth in that statement. I find myself easily angered by those who will not take chances in order to find out what might happen, myself included. But I've learned that living with a "What if..." mindset is far worse than not doing anything. Therefore, maybe it's time to re-evaluate some aspects of our lives.

This, combined with the fact that I can't help but chase pipe dreams, often leads to high-risk situations, but what the hell. No time like the present. Got to make the most out of our limited lifetime, right? Plus, we'll have the next life ahead of us to apply what we learn this time around.

  1. That decision quote sounds suspiciously like it came from Donnie Darko.

  2. Yeah, that quote could definitely be from Donnie Darko. And to paraphrase Donnie's response to the that, it's a crap philosophy because nothing in life is that simple.

Do you ever find that maybe you enjoy the chase more than the finish line?

  3. All decisions? No room for reason? Really? Doesn't the scientist inside of you want to explode and destory the misguided soul who dared uttered such foolishness?
